2008 - Love's Obeisance

Love’s Obeisance

Death is the last obeisance,

If for some the first,

To that Fiery Love unfathomable,

To that desire unquenchable

To that terrible ‘I thirst’,

Once said upon the cross.

A Love that strews galaxies

As if diamonds at our feet

And will not take no for an answer

Yet must leave us frees

Would seek us with the kiss of

Peace

To become ‘one of us’…

Cost what it may;

Cost what it did;

For what else is Incarnation

But embedded Love in humanity,

Yet so lightly hold it we.
